Getting Started

This is a guide for new members.

Before following these steps you must click the Sign Up button at the top of the page or on the home page and set up your profile.

Notice

We are a new organization.  Due to the rapidly changing state of the world, we wanted to launch this site quickly.  Not all areas of the site are complete.

Step 1. Join your City or County

Join your City or County group.  Click Groups in the menu at the top of the page -> Click City/County -> Choose your State -> Click your City or if you are more rural, click your County -> Click “Join Group”

Note: For major cities we have not also created a group in the name of the county that city is in so you and your Team can be affiliated with the more commonly known city name rather than the county name.

Also, some Members may be near a major city but technically live in a different county.  In this case you can choose if you would rather be part of the city or your county.

If you live outside of the US, please contact Nicholas with your country name, state or province and city or equivalent of county and we will create a group page for you and your Team to communicate through.

Step 2. Join or Form a Team

It is best to be part of a Team that you get along with, ideally with men that you already know.  If it is not possible to join or form a Team with existing friends you can make contact with existing Teams and ask if they are open to outside members.  (Hover over Groups -> Team -> New Member Forum) If you do this they may ask to get to know you first before accepting you into their Team.  Also, keep in mind that this is a real-world organization meaning you will need to meet with your Team offline on a regular basis so you will want to be part of a Team that is within short driving distance.

  • To Join a Team go to Groups in the menu at the top of the page -> Hover over Team -> Click List of Teams -> Choose your State -> Choose your City or County -> Find the Team you want to join and click “Request Access” if it is a private Team, or “Join” if it is a public Team.
  • To Form a Team, click Groups in the menu at the top of the page -> Hover over Team -> Click Create Team -> Follow the instructions. Remember to set your Team as a private Team.

Step 3. Establish your Team

First, either become acquainted with your new team if you joined an existing one which you did not previously know the members of or find potential new members amongst people you know to join your newly formed team.  A Team should have 5-10 members.

Also, establish regular communication with your Team and regular, real world meetings.  The Order is a real world organization that communicates through this site.  It is important that you meet with your Team offline on a regular basis.  Because of this, obviously your members should live at least within the same city/county and are within driving distance.

We recommend a weekly meeting but if this is not possible, set up a schedule that works for your Team.

Step 4. Choose your Teams Path

Once your team is established choose which Path works best for your team members.  You can find information about the different Paths on the Path Goals page found on your dashboard and in the left side menu.

Step 4. Work towards Self-Reliance

We are a new organization.  At this point, each team works together to decide how to schedule their time.

However, the first priority should be for each member to attain at least the basics for each area of self-reliance found on your Team Goals page.  Of course, you do not have to completely accomplish this goal before moving to the next step.  Simply begin working towards your Teams self-reliance at this point and continue to work on it as you work on your other goals.

Step 6. Begin working on your Path

Next, based on the information given for the Path that your Team has chosen, with your Team, set your own Path goals and begin to work on them.

Step 5. Begin to establish your City/County

As more Teams are formed in your city or county, leadership and a network will be established.  The purpose of this leadership will be to coordinate amongst all of the Teams in the city or county in accomplishing the stated goals and also bring all Teams and Members within the city/county to work together efficiently, productively and as a Brotherhood.

If you are among the first Teams in your city/county, you can choose to simply work as a lone Team on your Teams goals, or you can choose to take the lead and begin to recruit more Teams, establish leadership and coordinate cooperation and communication among the few Teams you do have.  There is more information about this under Operating Procedures found in the Codex in the top menu.

Also, if you choose to take the lead in establishing your city/county, you can message Nicholas to become the Admin for your City/County page.
